This is my first vette so I just want to make sure nothing is wrong. I have a little noise at idle that sounds like maybe lifters or valves that are loose. I saw a right up on here that said something to the point that the late model engines are noisey at idle.I have built many smallblock chevy's but they have all been early model engines , not had the chance with the late model stuff yet.My vette is a 2002 model so any advice would be highly appreciated .

 

Early model LS engines had a bit of piston slap at idle, particularly when warming up, which might be what you are hearing. If the car has been modified with aftermarket valve train and cam of course it would be noisier. But other that that they are not particularly noisy or prone to make any different noises than most early shevy small blocks.
