I have been on here a few years ago with my '62 but I decided I wanted something newer and something I don't have to work on. Getting too old to get under cars anymore. Anyway, surfing Facebook Marketplace I found a Magnetic red convertible with 5000 original miles about 200 miles from me. The only description in the listing was "Never in weather". I got a phone number and called an elderly couple (Older than me!) who wanted to sell their baby. Lady assured me that the car had never been in the rain nor parked anywhere it could get a ding. We negotiated what we both thought was a fair price and I told them I would pick it up this Tuesday. My buddy drove my car from New York to Ohio to see the car. Very nice people and the car was as advertised and looked like new. Has heads-up display, polished wheels, 6 speed trans etc. We went to Ohio DMV and got a temporary plate and started home.
I took it as easy as possible as I didn't trust the 22 year old run flat tires but had no trouble at all. The Corvette runs and drives like new and everything works as it should. The only glitch was that I got a service tire sensors message. That is not a problem as it is getting new sensors and tires next week as well as an oil change. I had forgotten how much fun it was to row thru the gears and the car brings a smile to my face both looking at it and driving it.
Got a lot of information from here buy searching but looking forward to asking a few questions. Photo is with the former owner. Cheers, Chiefdan
