Default got my first vette...a 1984 4 + 3 standard..

Hi everyone.

I picked up a 1984 4 + 3 standard coupe with 70,000 miles this past summer and have been in love ever since. Looking back I guess I overpaid but I still love her. I call her 'Brown Sugar' cause she is SOOOOO SWEET. I have had the ac updated because it wasn't working at all, put in a new battery and alternator, put new weatherstripping on for the hatchback, around the windshield and back of the targa top, and new targa top because the old one pulled away from the frame and was also cracked in one corner. She is coming along nicely. I plan to do the door weatherstripping next and start on the interior after that. Winter is coming quickly up here and I am going to miss her. This looks like a great place for any questions I am going to have.

Glad to be here and you will be seeing me on here quite a lot.

Welcome to the forums!!! As far as I am concerned with these babies, they are a love and a hobby so there is no such thing as "overpaying" for them. If you are happy with the car (and obviously you are very much so) and having fun with it, then it's ALL good. We are going to slowly restore ours over the next 10 years; she's got a few issues that are not show stoppers. We do not mind spending the money on the car, because for each dollar spent, there are obvious improvements happening!!!

Enjoy your car, my friend, and have a great time on the forums here! You will be amazed at the depth of knowledge and friendly help you will receive.

Welcome to the forums. Really nice vette. Hope you enjoy the 84 as much as I loved mine. Bought new and drove for 160,000 without one minutes trouble. I loved that 84, sold her after we bought another new vette. She was really a fun driving machine. Have lots of fun with yours. You are going to have great fun on this forum. Here's waving to you.
