Default Hello All.

I'm a long time reader of this site, and I thought it was about time I got in on some of the discussions.

I am the proud owner of an '87 - nasty maroon - 700R4- But on the plus side I have a D1 series intercooled Procharger

I bought my car about 6 years ago and had basically no problems until I got greedy with my blower and tried to run 14lbs of boost through my stock 130k mile motor. So for right now I'm just trying to get a solid motor built for it.

Excellent, this sounds like a fun project! I am personally very very fond of the 1987's, myself... Welcome to the forums! Have any pictures you might be able to share with us?

Welcome to the forums. Old rings don't like that kind of pressure.

Welcome to the site. Doesn't sound like your supercharger expericence went to well for you. Good luck with the re-build and post some pics.

When I first installed the supercharger it was set up for about 10 lbs. It ran that just fine for about 8 months, pretty much all summer. But, I tried a different pulley on it and it bumped up to about 14 lbs. It started knocking but never came apart on me, fortunately. When I pulled the motor I found a couple of spun rod bearings. I should have known better but I thought it was worth a shot. I pretty much knew that I was borrowed time anyway.

Welcome. I have a D1 Procharger, too. It will blow only10 lbs on my engine at max, but right now it blows only 8 lbs.

Awesome!!! Sounds like you have a killer setup Lee.I almost got shivers from looking at the pic of your engine bay. I thought the installation of the Procharger on my L98 was snug, but it pales in comparison to yours.Did you do any of thework to your car yourself? Particularly the methanol injection? I've contemplated adding a kit to my car but I'm just not sure yet, I thought maybe you would have some pointers.
