Hi, my name is Richard B. Me and my fiance just bought our first Corvette. 98, convertible, torch red, with 37,000 miles on it. We have been talking about it for awhile now, and originally said it was going to be "our" graduation gift to ourselves when our daughter graduated in 2010. Well we couldn't wait, and BTW, were not getting any younger. We found a great deal, talked it over during lunch, and brought it home the next day. We Love it, and took our first long ride in it last weekend, about 335 miles to S. Lake tahoe, California. Absolutely wonderful. I drove it pretty hard, had my foot on it a few times, and we still averaged 27 M.P.G. We survived a curious cop, a speed trap, and a Orange Lamborgini on the way back. We look forward to taking it out next weekend, and i look forward to visiting this great Forum. Seems like a lot of info. here.

I live in Reno, Nv and have cruised around Tahoe a few times. Next time up, take a cruise all the way around the lake, It's a real nice cruise in a Vette. You must have come up 50. Take 89 at the wye to go around the West side toward Emerald Bay and Tahoe City. There, at Tahoe City, you'll pick up 28 that will take you back to the South shore and back to 50. Fabulous views!!!
