Hi, im new to this forum..have been in others though.. I retired on Sept. 21st 2007. i presently own a 2007 ZO6 (my retirement present). I will follow with pics. Thanks for having me. EJ
Well, made it back..... 24 days, 8,476 miles, 23.6 average MPG,$905.00 worth of gas..paid everything from a low of $2.97 to $4.10 a gallon..however..if you are planning a trip like this get your car DE-TUNED or lay on a supply of OCTANE boost.. from just past San Antonio TX. west you will only find 91 octane and in Utah only 90 octane. So i had my 93 octane tune in and had to add octane boost at every fillup. So my fuel price will have to have about $80.00 added for octane booster. That being said it was an awsum trip. Had beautiful weather EVERY day but 2,that was in LA and on the last driving day home, and only rained on the last day.
The car performed flawlessly, made one run up to 167 mph on the practically deserted I-10 in Arizona, (more than double the posted 75 mph limit)... also cruised at 100 mph for most of the day from Blyth Cali. to Las Cruces NM.. (had 2 slow around Phoenix and Tucson ) Had the CHASE CAM going in all the (GOOD) places ie...Corvette roads. Video is good but i screwed up the audio somehow... will post some if you want..
following is the list of places visited with pics from each..
Oklahoma City/Route 66.

Hi and welcome to the forum. A New Z06, that had to be a great trip! I've never gone 8500 miles all at once, have gone 31,000 miles in the last 7 years, but mostly just a few hundred miles each way.
Glad you got your new toy, enjoy it, Corvette's are special and the longer you own it the more you'll understand how special; they are. PG>
