Hi everybody,

I just bought a black 2006 C6 a few months ago (see pictures below). No special modifications yet...

Welcome. Nice car. I've found this to be a pretty good forum in the time I've participated.

Where in Florida is Destin? I spend a lot of time in FL on business and pleasure but don't remember seeing that city name.

Destin is located in the Florida Panhandle between Pensacola and Panama City. Unfortunately the main drag that runs through town (US Highway 98) has deep wheel ruts in some places which makes for a bumpy ride since I don't have the magnetic selective ride availability option. Oh well...

Welcome to the site mbonness, that is a great looking ride you have there. After owning one black car I said I would never buy another, but I still think it is one of the best looking colors when clean.

Yes the black color is very difficult to keep clean, I usually take it through a touchfree wash at least once a week or wash it by hand at home. During the week I use a California duster I ordered from the Vette museum to take care of the pollen dust, etc.

When I had my black Mustang I found myself wiping it down with a wet towel just about every morning to get off the dust and pollen until I discovered the California Duster. That little things is a must have for owners of black cars. I also like to use it after I wax my car to get all the wax dust off.

Matt

Welcome to the Black car club. Now first things first. MOD your car!!
As far as dust or keeping it clean, yeah its a pain butt if you MOD your car
its easier to keep clean. Why? You go faster!!! More HP and TQ creates less
dirt or dust. On that note. Keep it in the Red and Turn the Boost up!!

Peace

Very nice one. My Camaro and Vette are both dark colors and living in SE Texas is rough on keeping a car clean. [8D]
