Hello, I just purchased this beautiful 67 Sting Ray. I fell in love w it the minute we met. Drove it and the side pipes singing sealed the deal. A 327/350 Hp isn't the top dog but I like it. So, fast forward to last week. I installed a new Holley and took it for a spin. Ran like a top. Got it back home, let it set for an hour or two and tried to start it again and nothing. No lights on the dash...no ignition, nothing. I opened the hood and smoke is rolling like a campfire. After disconnecting the battery I started the trouble shooting journey. The red wire on the horn relay melted in two. (I looked on web and apparently this is a common issue ). Thinking I need to replace the dash wiring harness but I didn't see anything obvious. Any suggestions? Finally after pulling the firewall plugs and cleaning them up I got the beast to start and run but the amp guage is pegged at 40+ amps. Bad gauge maybe?

If you do decide to replace the wiring harnesses, take plenty of pictures, especially under the dash. I replaced the under the dash wiring harness on my friend's '66. We likened it to wrestling an anaconda.
