Default scratches

I was just sick...I'm sitting in my sis's driveway getting ready to leave when her neighbor came up walking his his huge bulldog, he stops to talk to her & the bull dog decides to jump up on my car to apparently see me, I started hollering "the car, the car" the man pulls the dog away, both he & my sis acted like it was nothing. When I got home there was scratches on it, hubby waxed & they're less noticable. Any ideas of the best way of geting rid of scratches AND the best way of dealing with situations like this? Seems like the only way to keep a car like this in perfect condition is to keep it garaged & never leave the house!!

I hate when people are not considerate to others vehicles like that. Is your hubby doing this by hand? How deep are the scratches? I am a big fan of our Poorboy Super Swirl Removers (SSR) for either hand or machine work. I would go over the scratches with the SSR line and then follow that up with a good sealant such as Poorboys EX-P. The only thing you can do to avoid situations like this is to just do your best. I am one of those people that park at the end of the parking lots to avoid door dings and shopping carts, I park my car in the garage at night just to keep squirells, cats, birds, or whatever other animal might find its way across the hood.
I also carry this as well:

There is a type of scratch filler "pencil," more like a felt tip pen that I've seen which really works well. Body shops and dealer detailers use them more than they will let on, too.

If it doesn't look better in the long run you might try one of these before heading to the body shop (or going gunning for that dog).

It works best if you follow the intructions exactly.

scratches aren't too bad...more surface scratches yet hand waxing didn't get rid of them totally, I can still see them. The color doesn't help either, it's monteray red metallic which I love but sometimes wish I'd gone white tho I kno it wouldn't have been as pretty! As far as being protective, it's garage kept with a cover, hub even put rubber along the edges of garage to keep door from hitting (kids ya kno) & we park WAY out, I try to park next to a curb that way atleast one side is protected. Funny story...we'd parked far out next to a curb on one side & my husband on the other, he left the store before I did called me a few mins later to let me kno my car was out there all by it's self LOL!
