Some *!#*!#* put a ding in my vette!
I am just sick!
I, whom usually circle a parking lot 3, 4, 5 times if necessary, came out to find my driverside door with a ding in it. There was ampleroom in this super wide parking space and all that was required was a minimal amount of driving skill and about the same amount of courtesy, but I guess it was just too much to ask. Anyone know of any good products for buffing out a scratch? I have been able to improve the appearance somewhat with this paint protection polish I have, but thought I'd ask you all if you know of anything.
Thanks in advance and thanks for the opportunity to vent. [:@]
Take care. Stay safe.

No respect, dang it, no respect! "People" just don't care. [:@]
Some dumb broad opened her door into my wife's new pick up. I got out and told her off, but she wouldn't even look at me, and just ignored me and drove off.
I really hate the general populace. [sm=shootshoot.gif]I feel like kickin' somebody's door in, the next time it happens.

You know, I hate to say it because I am a member of that team, but WOMEN ARE THE WORST!! And for me to get a ding on my driverside, it had to be from a passenger. The worst part is, this was such a wide parking space, there was plenty of room, it just require a little consideration when pulling in and opening the door. They must have taken off right after doing it because when I returned to my car the spot next to me was empty. [sm=smiley19.gif] I was so bummed.

Try car wax first. If the ding was with a totally smooth edge, and you have only some of his paint rubbed onto yours, this might be your best bet.
If the clear coat/paint is penetrated, see the 'nick' repair procedure...

If in the paint, it's a different story
I never thought about checking with the property owner - thanks for that suggestion.
It is a scratch that has penetrated my glossy topcoat and top layer of paint. It doesn't feel too deep when you rub your finger over it and I have improved the appearance somewhat with a paint protection product given to me by the dealershhip when I bought my vette, but will also try car wax and checkout the site you've provided.
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.

Hey, whoa there. No Rita, you're not a member of "that" team. You're no "broad", you're a lady!

And yes, I do certainly respect other people's property - especially beautiful cars!
Here in middle Tennessee they call those type of people "common". My definition of "common"== low rent, disrespectful, unaware, mindless, lumps of waistedhuman flesh breathing good air, That have their heads so far up their butts, they have to shave their armpits just to see where they're going. They wouldn't even make for good target practice.
I've had that happen to me several times with me setting in the dang car at the time. Not even a look let alone an "I'm sorry". Pisses me off every time. Makesme Wanna grab them by the knapp of the neck and sink a size 14 in their ***. I had one lady say in defense of her stupid off spring..."hey it's a parking lot, what do you want?" A little consideration maybe! Geesch!
Most people suck!!
There's several products on the market, but it depends on how deep in it is. If it penetrated to the primer than your best bet is to use the touch up procedure like CWB suggested.
And Rita,Like Dave said, you're definitely not a "Broad".

Oh, George! You are always so funny and in this instance right on the money, too! I just don't understand people whom don't respect other people.
My ding is very small, not very deep, at least not down to the primer, but definitely scratched the paint.I will be looking for some of the products available and hopefully will be able to fix it.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply and thanks for making me smile and the compliment. You are a class act!
Blessings,
Rita
