Default Vette Brother/Sisterhood is Alive

My wife and I were walking through Wally World and I'm wearin' my Corvette hat. One of the guys that works there comes up and says, "What year Vette you have?" I told him I have a 1980, L82. He said that he has a 1980 Vette too. He started pumpin' me for info on the C3s and I told him about Corvette Forums. He said he would check it out. Eventually he told me that his was in the parking lot, and that he had bought it in '82. The way he told me, I could tell that he wanted me to go out and look at it. So I did. The left front had been crunched, the paint was shot, both headlights were stuck up, and the interior was missing the door panels. But...ya know what? I could tell he loved that car. As bad of shape as it was in, I saw a lot to love too! I made a new friend today!

Rock on Vette Bro's and Sista's, you're not alone! [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Great post, Starship!

Oh yeah, I can feel the love - there is just something about owning a Corvette!!!

Take care, stay safe.

Starship: What a wonderful story. I can just see this guys face, beam with pride while you looked over his Vette. There is such a pride of ownership driving one of these babies. I'm sure this is a piece of the American dream while he'l out cruising.

Ya Lady, I could really relate with the guy. The "Starship" wasn't in much better shape when I got 'er.
And like him, what some people would call a piece of "Shmidt", it is a jewel that shines in the face of the owner. It's not "How" it is, it's "What" it is! The potential is there!

I love this story. We keep finding encounters like that, too, and it's really heartwarming to see the community come together so tight! [8D]
