AC Problems, Roasting Alive! Problem Solved
Hi All,Well I now have AC again! After many hours under the dash trying to trace down my hot air problem with no luck I took a break and just started paging through my owners manual. In a small paragraph in the climit control section I found a line that said to reset the climit control remove #1 and #17 fuses for 15 seconds and reinstall. I did and low and behold the AC/Heater works normal again. For how long remains to be seem but, for now all is fine. I have to say that after diconnecting the battery several times working on other problems may have caused the problem, but who knows?!
Thanks for posting this tidbit. No telling how many of us this will help. Mine is doing the same thing and I thought it was just centrifugal heat. I'm going to go do it right now. Thanks again. Don't forget the wave. Cheers.
The same thing happened to me with my 92 this summer but fortunately my wife read the manual thinking that I pushed the wrong button. Just like you said, it started working again. I wonder why this happens? It must be common, if its in the book.
Apparently when you disconnect the battery it throws the climate control for a loop. it has happened to me twice, and after doing the reset thing it took a couple of drive cycles for it to work right again.
