Do you know how he gets his car to be like that....Particular exaust or engine mods? Possibly any tips from experience with your exaust?

Yeah, it's actually pretty easy so long as you don't mind paying for the parts. First way would be to put Long tube headers on, no cats, and then in your catback exhaust go with a system that only has mufflers and no resonator. Or for really loud, no mufflers or resonators.

But if you don't want your car to be crazy loud all the time, then I would recommend Longtube headers, cat or no cat midpipes, and then a catback exhaust that has resonators and mufflers. This would be pretty good throaty sound on a regular basis. Now what you do is put in what they call cutouts. It's basically a "Y" in the middle of your exhaust that has caps over it. You open the caps up and your exhaust is now dumping just before a lot of the sound deadening devices. This will potentially be very loud, even on an otherwise stock exhaust system.

The sound of exhaust is a particular thing that everyone seems to have a diffrent opinion on. Over at ls2gto.com they have an entire thread in there exhaust section that's dedicated to diffrent exhaust sounds based on diffrent parts.

The C5 in question that made me jump could have one of many diffrent combinations of exhaust. While I could easily recognize that his exhaust wasn't stock, I couldn't guess as to the exact configuration he had. Hope this helps.

I got true dual gutted cats and no mufflers**straight tips** Its loud but I want it louder even at idle. I had flowmaster 40 series before this set up with 2 cats and the stock reasanator......and it was not like I expected. I like the way the mustang cobras sound. I would like that tone but three times louder.:DI guess this is as loud as I can get unless I go headers but I dont think that will change the sound will it?

It will change the sound some, but it may not give you the effect your looking for. If you want loud, try getting some exhaust cutouts put in. Manual ones will run you about 90 bucks for two, and electric ones can be up to about 400 bucks for two. That will make it a lot louder guaranteed. And be cheaper then headers if it's just sound your going for. You'll also see some HP gains from cutouts.

You can buy electric cutouts from QTP that can be installed just ahead of the catback exhaust. With a push of the button you can go to fully open headers. Believe me, you get LOUD! Then, if you see a cop, push the button again to go back to quiet. They are a lot of fun.
