I just had a fun little race. It was the local drags tonight in town so there was alot of cool cars cruisin around. I was about to go home but decided I wanted to check out everyone cruisin. I was kind of hoping someone would race. I have a 2000 Supercharged C5 with 495 rwhp.
Anyways I took a turn going down a main street but it was down hill with a wicked curve at the end. I was looking in my mirror and I saw a (99 or so) camaro's headlights coming up on me fast. I dropped down to first and waited until he got up beside me. He come up to only my back bumper in the other lane and stayed like that. I thought screw it! I punched it and accelerated way faster than expected and hit the rev limiter. Shifted to 2nd,short shiftedto 3rd. A terrible place to even attempt a race. However, to my surprise he stayed with me. After that we both wantedto find a better place. It wasn't long until we found a good stretch. He pulled up beside me and we gave each other the thumbs up. I dropped it to 1st an spun alot. He got a few feet on me but after I hooked up i was gone. Especially once I hit 3rd. He came up beside me and complimented me on my ride but the feeling was mutual because I know that car wasn't stock. I'm sure I'll see him again so we'll have to pull into a pub next time so I can look under his hood.
