hi justput the trans in my79 I put in a rebuild turbo 350 I think it come from a 84 half ton now I can not get the drive shaft in .it seams too long I brought the car with no trans in it and toughtthe turbo 350s are all the same . does anybody know have to measure this ???

 

So... ya put the shaft into the tranny, and then not be able to instal the rear....?
So how much do you miss by, to get theu-joints to sit in the sadles, on the pinion shaft of the rear end.?

 

hey buddie i think your vette came with turbo 350 with 6 in tailhousing and some off the trucks came with 9 in tailhousing you need to ask for a short shaft 350 and the one out off a truck will have a diff servo in it will not shift as hard hope this helps johnny

 

Your right Dude the trucks have a longer tailshaft than the cars.
