I wanted to have the car broken in before I started to mod it- I got pretty carried away with my previous car (2001 GT Mustang). But... Literally 1 week after purchasing it; I wanted to add the Pioneer Avic Z1, Exhaust, Filter, etc...to my Vette (back in Oct)

As of now... The Avic Z1 is here...I just haven't had the chance install... still waiting for a few questions to be answered about this unit (read previous posts)

Next....

AIR FILTER- I can spend about 4 hours reading the Eckler's catalog, and still cannot decide how one air filter claims upto 36HP, and others only 10. A few people push the Lingenfelter, some SLP, and K&N, etc. etc.- I am not such a fan of "cutting-in" to the plastic piece on my car; even if a template is provided.... Nevertheless; anybody have any preference for which CAI setup works best??? Leaning towards the SLP as of now $389.95.... But; can EASILY be swayed in another direction-- HELPPPPPPPP!!

Thanks...

I don't have a C6, in fact, I don't even have a Corvette(YET). BUT, I would definently recommend SLP. I do have an F-Body, and that used to be their specialty, and I can tell you they are great people.

There was two choices for me, either the stinger, or the Callaway honker. I chose the Callaway. I have been happy with since i installed it, and it was a noticeable HP gain. It'swell designed and thought out piece. A little pricey for the C5's but isn't everything for our cars.

I have definitely heard good things about the Callaway CAI, but I believe it requires you to do some cutting. I have the Blackwing on my car and would recommend to to anybody. Pretty simple install with no sharp objects necessary.[/align]
