Default Air Filter Mod

I am going to install a K&N filter as suggested by many of you. I have seen numerous threads about cutting out a square in the air filter housing to increase flow/hp. Anybody have a pic or two that I can use as an example? I don't want to do it wrong

Thanks guys[8D]

When I carried out the various mods on my 87 Vette, I left a 1" border on the lid of the air filter box more to hold the filter in than anything else. It made quite a difference with the intake of air. If you don't want to savage your lid, pick one up at your local junkyard and keep the original intact. You won't regret doing this. It just means you will have to clean up your K & N filter more, that's all. I believe it should be done every 6 months, regardless of the claims, with the kit that comes with the filter. Good luck.
