I would try switching the trans fluid. I highly recommend using GM Syncromesh found at your local GM dealer.

I am planning to switch my Trans Fluid pretty soon, but I was going to go with Royal Purple (I've heard a lot of good things about their products). Why do you recommend the GM Syncromesh over anything else on the market (aside from the fact that its the factory fluid)?

Well, I ran Redline in a 94 Sonoma I had and switch to the GM Synchromesh after reading a million raves about it online and after switching I actually noticed a big difference. I did not think I would notice anything but I did. The shifts where much more smooth. The thing I like about it is if you do a search online for "gm synchromesh" you will find that not only GM guys use it but people use it for ALL sorts of makes and models. Royal Purple is another good one to run though.
