I purchased a Kenwood D3 that i planed to put in my 02 Z06. I went to 4 audio shops and asked them to do it, they all told me that it would be really expensive because it would not fit, and they would have to fiberglass it in after they did a lot of cutting. Well i just wasn't buying it, so my 3 friends and i took apart my dash and after i cut one safety bracket for the stock radio to sit on the double din fit like a glove in the din and 1/2 slot. The dash has plastic edges that go around the radio, these were too small for my radio, therefore I shaved them down a bit and the radio looks like it is supposed to be there. The edges are a little rough on my install so my friend who build Darth Vader helmets as a job is going to custom mold around the edges and then spray it the stock color for 100 bucks. That is 600 short of what the cheapest shop wanted to charge me. So if you want to put a tv in your vette and the shop says to get a flip out and you don't want that ... do it yourself, and go with a double din.
