So which spring goes on the car?
I have a 1963 with 70,000 miles that has been in the family since 1966 on an an "original" state. I ordered a new rear spring and found that it is much different than the one that I removed from the car. Now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have no record of the spring being replaced on my Vette . . . at least not between 66 and now. So which spring is "out of the factory" original?

I see your problem, is the one you took off the factory one? I don't think the rear spring would have been replaced in the first three years, but who no's?
If you have an Assembly Manual you can get the part number and see if your Chevy dealership can help.
How about the vendor you bought the replacement from, what do they say?PG
