Default 1964 Power steering out of control

Just installed stock power steering on a non-powersteering 1964 conv. All works great except the final 1/2 turnwhen turning left. At that point thepower steering takes over and violently pulls the steering wheel the rest ofthe way to the left and holds it there tightly. It then takes a bit of effort to turn to theright, but only for that first 1/2 turn. then everything works excellent again.

The steering components are new/rebuilt. All hoses etc are hooked up as schematics indicate. the valve is adjusted to the center as required. Car drives nice down the road and doesn'tpull in either direction.

Could it be the valve was assembled incorrectly? I'm baffled, so any help would be greatlyappreciated! Thanks, Rod

Sorry this is a little late but have you gone through the valve centering process that's delineated in the factory service manual?
