Default 1966 intake manifold clearance

I have a 1966 big block 427 with oval port heads, 390 hp. Does anyone know of an aluminum dual plane low rise that will fit under the hood. Thanks, Dave

Welcome to the forum.

Might check w/ Edelbrock and Weiand and see what they offer. I suspect the offerings are pretty sparse.

Isn't the stock manifold dual plane?

I'm not sure there are any stock aluminum oval port manifolds. I think the L88 had rectangular port heads with an aluminum manifold but I think the oval port engines all had cast iron intakes. Like 73shark said you can check the specs on the aftermarket manifolds. They usually provide dimensions. I wanted to use a Performer RPM on my '69 Camaro SS396/375 but it was way too tall so I had to stick with the stock aluminum intake because I wanted to stay with the SS hood and not a cowl hood so I know what you are going through with your Corvette. Good luck and let us know if you find something that fits.

There's a reason for the L-88 hood.

My friend's '66 427 450 Hp had an aluminum rect. port manifold but it wasn't a hi-rise. Can't remember if it was a dual plane or not.
