63 restoration with used non matching numbers frame
what needs to be done to make sure I don't have a problem registering my car when I move to a different state that requires vin verification on classic cars I restored the car 30 years ago and put a used frame from another 63 it the vin plate under the glove box is still intact and never removed any suggestions would be appreciated . Also what would be the best company to run a vin check for a history report on a corvette I have the vin complete number from the car that the used frame came from.
Thanks

I have done work like this previously. What you need is some type of paperwork on the frame you used. Often times the state patrol is responsible for for vin inspections and you would need to take your car and ALL of the paperwork related to the car for inspection. They will then assign the car a new vin number, reflecting the frame change.
If you no longer have any paperwork on the frame call the inspecting office and ask for advice. You should do this well ahead of any planned move.
