Best guess would be the closest part of the frame or some metal part connected to the frame. Look for an unused hole.

 

Yes. Ground strap attaches to the inside part of frame just behind the rear driver tire. Should see a threaded hole there. You may also see some white markings in that area. I just pulled out my old unit so I know exactly where the ground strap on a '66 attaches to.
