Inline electric fuel pump suggestions
I?m not looking to keep priming the carb bowls or cranking the starter through multiple bursts every time the car sits for a few months, so I?m planning to run a 12v inline fuel pump in tandem with the mechanical pump. Back in the late ?60s, when I had a ?61/?62 Corvette ?Frankenvette,? the mechanical pump failed and adding an inline electric pump was a quick, cheaper fix that worked perfectly.
Years later I even used a Bendix pump off a small Cessna/Piper aircraft, but checking today those are 3?4 times the cost of other pumps on the market. Curious if anyone here has had good or bad luck with specific brands ? seems even Carter pumps are now made in China.

I have had that same thought using a carburator. Some experts say it's good to crank it over 5 or 6 times before it fires to build oil pressure after it sits awhile. I had a 62 Vette years ago, with a Bendix fuel pump, it went to work just as soon as the key was turned on, fired right up. That same pump today is over $100, but it worked well. No excessive cranking. You could get a cheap pump that would work good for priming. Set it up with a push bottom maybe.
