Default windshield wiper posts

what are the TPI on the 5/8" posts that the wiper blades are fitted to? would it be 5/8"x24.........I know for certain that fine thread 5/8"X18 is too coarse.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. That's a good question, during those years they only used course and fine threads. Metric was not used until the 80s. Unless something had been changed.

Welcome to the forum. See if you can find a thread pitch gauge at a hardware store. Similar to a feeler gauge only it has teeth on it with different spacing for the different thread pitches.

Thanks!
For 5/8" wiper blade posts, the standard thread is typically 5/8"-24 UNF (Unified Fine Thread). You’re correct that 5/8"-18 would be too coarse. So the TPI (threads per inch) you’re looking for is 24 TPI.
