Default 1973 Header Gasket Problems

I have a 1973 corvette with an automatic transmission, my problem is that I must have cheap header gaskets on right now, beacuse when it drives and idles, after every revolution, you can hear a "puff" of air escaping through the gasket, which gets cracked due to the heat, ive replaced them before, but after a couple of trips the same thing starts to happen. I was wondering if there are better, more temperature efficient gaskets out there to fix my problem.. Thanks

Default RE: 1973 Header Gasket Problems

I'm almost certain Felpro makes header gaskets for your ride. I've had Felpro gaskets and friends who have used them and they work great, the price can't be beat for what you're getting. They're usually in stock, and if they're not, they can be ordered from any O'Reily's or Autozone parts stores. So you don't know what kind you have now? Stay away from Mr. Gasket brand, those are cheap and fail regularly. Hope this helps.
