69 Corvette 427 Value
Hi guys,
I'm looking at a 69 Corvette convertible this week. It was originally a 427 435hp 4speed sidepipe car in Riverside Gold. Now it has a 355 with a 4speed, painted in a cool tri color paintjob. The paint is tired, but the body is in great shape. The frame is rust free, the sidepipes are there, and it still has it's hardtop.
Obviously without pics its hard to put a value on something, but if you would, what would it be? It's a fully functional, running and driving car.
Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum.
Obviously it would be worth more if it had the original big block engine in it. However one could always endeavor to find the original engine but that would be in the end a money-losing proposition. One good place to look for current values would be Corvette Magazine. They publish values cross the country in their magazine periodically.
Edit: brief research shows that it would probably be worth somewhere in the $30k range.

It all boils down to three things, condition, condition, and condition. Value could be from 1500 to 30g's, it all depends on the three previous main aspects. Not numbers matching is a big drop in value. Better be pretty dang nice to go over 20g's. Paint can be big dollars. Candy Black Cherry with silver ghost flames could run 15g's and up.
