I have a 69 coupe, 84,000 mile car. All original. Exhaust is gonna need to be replaced. Thinking of maybe swapping in headers and ceramic coating them to cut down on the heat coming up through the floor. Car has a 350 and a 4 speed with AC. Who makes a GOOD fitting header for this that doesn’t hang down to much?
I had real good results with Heddman ceramic coated headers . Fit great with no interference with the PS or AC. They were on a 79’ with a 350 block. I purchased them from Summit Racing, just enter the car’s information and they’ll give you all the choices. Got luck with your project and thanx for the picture- very nice looking Vette !
I really like my Doug Thorley headers but I don't think ceramic coat is an option. Some thing or actually several things I found allowed heat into the cabin. First is the shift boot. There is a rubber boot under the leather shift boot that was torn and allowing a lot of hot engine compartment air to heat up my legs. Next was the ventilation system box seals were all deteriorated. This allowed hot engine compartment air to mix with the incoming fresh air in the ventilation system.
