Default 78 Carpet Replacement - Any Advice?

Hi - I am about to begin the largest phase of my interior restoration for my 78 Coupe. It is White with a Saffron interior. I have just purchased my Carpet, Door Panels, Seat Covers, Seat Foam, Cargo Door Trim Rings, Door Sills, etc... I have everything in my garage and ready to start. I will have my Seats done by a professional Upholsterer so no worries there... But the Carpet I will do myself. I wondered if anyone had any tips, advice, gotchas, how-tos, etc.. on this Process. It is the first time that I have ever replaced carpet in anything.

Thanks in advance

Joe

Before you start get with a supplier and get enough of that super thin super efficient to cover the floor under the carpet. My senile old mind can't come up with the name, but I think Summit caries it as well as many of the 'vette stores. I can't help with the rest,I've never installed a carpet kit either.
Good Luck

Thanks for the Tip Ron
I did purchase the Heat shield for the front... I was planning on using reflectix for the rear but may change to a sound-deadening material for the rear instead - something like dynomat or similar.

I found that a heat gun comes in handy when you're trying to get the pre-molded carpet to conform to some of the sharp corners like behind the front seats. Good luck.
