I was just wondering if anyone knew what the floor boards in a 1978 vette are made of. I know there were some years that had steel floor boards and others years have fiberglass so i was just curious what 78's floor were made of.

Dunno about your 78,the floorboards in my 79 are metal.

No,but this is a Nevada car and we don't have rust problems in ares like the floorboards because the area is open to our really dry air. From what I felt when I was checking I would guess the metal is quite thin and in wet areas and road salt areas there could be a problem.

Mid 75 they switched to steel floors. I am building a 75 with glass floor. I am picking up a 76 tomorrow and using the floor out of it. Much easier to repair floor in steel considering they dont make rocker channel covers or glass floors that you can purchase. Can only cut out of another car. Job is rather large do your homework.

 

That sux,I use a 15 suspended floor now and I would like to own another.Im gonna order the Reference shell pack RF-924 XAP with a 14X11 suspended floor.
