'81 quit running on expressway....Ign module?
It was running great, then instantly just quit. Turns over fine, has planty of battery power, can smell fuel.
I think it's prolly the ignition module, but it was just replaced 1000 miles ago.
I replaced the cap, rotor, coil, ign module, wires and plugs when I got the car. (It had quit running on me a month and a half ago, and replacing the module got it running again)
Is there any way to check these modules, and what typically makes them burn out, if that indeed is what my issue is?
Thanks for your help men!

First thing, pull a plug and see if you are getting spark. If not, then start working your way back, check the coil, everything under the cap (make sure you don't have a broken rotor tip). Check all the wires and connectors to the ignition module and the distributor/coil.

The best test for me... find a buddy with a working Corvette and try putting his module in your car.
Or just convince the wife that his & hers Corvettes is a great idea for just this reason.bill.
Bad luck there budy..........You can take your module down to NAPA auto parts, they will check it for you for free usually.......Bill was very good at telling you to start at the plug, and work your way back. Also check your conections well. Look closely at all the Pins and female plugs to be sure one is not pullled out farther tan another........Good luck!!!!!!!!, And let us all know what you find, as it could be helpfull to the rest of us out here in Vette land..........Gary
