Default Another seat question

Ok so heres the deal I looked up the trim code on the drive's side door which on my 74 is 400 so I i did some research and found out that that is for vinyl seat. Now looking at the different seat cover materials some companys list all vinyl, and vinyl leather. My car has what i believe are the origonal seats and the edges are leather and the inserts are vinyl.
So what my questions are...Could this seats be origional, and is my trim code of 400 for all vinyl seat or vinyl and leather seats?
thanx for you help in advance
-Doug

In '73, they were either all vinyl or all leather. Some companies sell a vinyl cover that looks like the leather pattern.

In the Corvette Restoration Guide by Richard Prince he says standard upholstery is a combination of slightly grained flat vinyl with Chevrolet's "Comfort weave" vinyl inserts sewn into the seat bottoms and backs.
A "Custom Interior Trim" option was offered and included a strip of carpet on the bottom of the door panels. Only the faces of the seats were real leather, the sides are vinyl.
Do you have carpet on your doors? PG.

The custom interior also had the cut-pile carpet instead of the twisted loop.

Speaking of twisted loop. What the heck is the difference between twisted loop and cut pile?

Well back in '73, it was about $200. Seriously, the cut pile has a plush, sheared look and is like most cars have today. The twisted loop was a loop pile and a little more coarse and firmer and wore better.
