Default Carburator replacement/repair

Hi,

Has anyone replaced a carburetor on a 1981 Corvette? Or even rebuilt one. My mechanic said there are difficulties with the computer system. He said maybe the old one could be replaced with Holley, but he was worried about clearance with the hood. Any pointers will be appreciated.

George

Default carburator repair

Thanks everyone. I read some posts and my mechanic just did a rebuild on the carb. The car is running now!

Default rebuilt Carb

I appreciate all the help from this forum. I have had some cars over the years, but this is my first C3. I definitely got a decent one, but 40 year old cars do tend to need some repairsLOL!
Thanks,
George

Q- jets are actually a good carb and easy to tune and repair. There are several good books on them.
