Carpet Underlayment

Carpet Underlayment
I am restoring My 78 Silver Ann, bought new carpet and underlayment for it. My issue is that the underlayment comes in all these weird looking pieces none that match the carpet so I am finding it difficult in which to install it correctly. Does anyone have any schematics as to how it might go? The manufacturer of the stuff doesn't even have one! It is the 8pieceheat and sound barrier kit from corvette america.

RE: Carpet Underlayment
I went to the HomeDepot and bought 2 rolls of frost king HVAC insullation for a total of $8.00
This is the stuff they use on duct work (silver/metal paper w/ fiberglass ) for insulation and noise. It comes in a roll approx 12"wide and has adhesive already on it. Just roll it out and cut tofit and pull off paper backing. Buy some of the silver metal tape to put over any seams you may have.
I used it on my 74 Vet & my 69 Camaro.
It works great, keeps the noise down and most of the heat out.

I agree with schoon. I used reflectix which I bought at Homedepot cost $21 for 24"X 25', just layed it in cut to fit and taped with chrome tape. Works great for reducing heat and road noise in the cockpit . L82Steve
