Walked into the garage this morning and was met by gas fumes. Looked underneath and sure nuff it was dripping. Had to go on to work so I have not removed the tank yet but I am assuming the worst. I have looked at several vette supply shops and no one carrys the tank for the 80 thru 82. Any suggestions? can the bladder on these tanks be repaired or patched? Will a 79 fit? I would rather do it right and replace the tank but if one is not available I am at a loss please help.

yes it can be patched,dont weld it.!will blow up in your face even if you clean it good will still explode.eastwood sells gas tank repair kit.i have used it before works great. good luck and dont weld the tank![sm=signs003.gif]

Check with EC Products, EC, they might can steer you towards a new or good quality used tank.

 

Thanks, I did get the repair kit and it worked perfect. Shes back on the road again but way to many storms here in east Tennessee this week....... keeping her safe in the gas leak/fume free garage.
