Grinding when turning

Grinding when turning
Just got my 82 back from Trans. shop after having it rebuilt due to being destroyed by the body shop while getting repainted. Now it has a grinding /scraping noise coming from what sounds like the drivers side front but only when moving forward & turning left. Checked front and rear wheel bearings, brakes and diff. with nothing evident. Has anyone heard of this problem?

Might look in the front fenderwells for signs of tire rub ,front area on the right, rear area on the left. Also might look for rubbing around the right rear wheel. Could allso be some kind of interference in the tierod and front wheel area. Might jack it up ,turn it left and then spin the wheels by hand while under there on a creeper? Good Luck!

I agree with Partsman on this one, sounds like something in the front is rubbing.
Sometimes is is hard to find what is rubbing when you jack up the car because there is no actual drivers weight in the car.
I would have someone drive you car very slowly in a parking lot etc with you walking right next to the front fenders and see if you can determine where the noise is coming from.
I had a very similar problem and it was the front driver's side disk brake backing. When I had my trans worked on someone must have bumped into it and and moved it closer to the wheel.
Good Luck,
