Default Headers

Hi guys, Brand New to this forum. My buddies and i just pulled the top end off of my 73 vette, and i have a few questions. 1) i need shorty style headers for pretty cheap to put on instead of the ram horn style A.I.R. injected manifolds. I checked Jegs and Summit and i cant really find anything, any recomindations? 2)I have removed the A.I.R. pump, what do i need to plug up (if anything) since i got a new alum. manifold and carb? Thanks for all the help guys i really appreciate it.

cant think of any "cheap" shorties right now,,,, but take a look at sanderson headers. They've got the short (QP) models for vettes

Check E-bay for Chevy headers, lots of shortys, I would stay away from Sanderson, I got a set of their shortys for my Chevelle and they were junk!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys, does anyone have a set of block huggers on their these cars with the stock exhaust. The reason being i have just dropped like $1000 on rebuilding the top end so far and i want to utilize the stock exhaust without any modification and my buddies and i arent sure if the block huggers will acutally work for the 73. Thanks for the help guys

If you really want to get all of that engine work to the rear wheels, I would strongly recommend that you replace the stock exhaust with a 3" one and low-restriction mufflers. Another option is the Hooker nest-of-snakes header/side exhaust system. The ram horn manifolds actually work quite well with the stock system if you really want to keep it. If you do, be sure to remove the AIR tubes that are inside before you plug the openings.

Im looking for a set of headers that dont require new exhaust!! I dont eant to go with new ram horns due to the time it will take to change plugs, and the fact they are ugly as hell. I want some new ones if i really have to reuse them so i dont have the air tubes and i dont feel like cutting them and pluging the holes. Any ideas? Do block huggers fit and will they work with the stock exhaust?? Thanks

Can't help w/ block huggers. Suggest searching on internet. BTW changing plugs with headers is no easier than with the ram horns. In fact some headers make it more difficult, especially w/ A/C.
