Heater question
Hi again, # 1 can you hear the blower motor when you switch it on?
# 2 do you have 4 positions on the switch off - low - med -high. I think most cars with A/C had that kind on switch. Low and med are fused at the fuse box but high has a seperate in line fise on the drivers fender.
# 3 When vacuum is applied to the heat control valve under the hood it lets the water flow thru the heater core, see if you have vacuum at that connection. Does this help? PG.

Nothing comes out of the vents at all. The A/C was disabled by the previous owner during the engine rebuild. He took the compressor brackets off and left them in another state. The heater has all components though. At least as far as I know.

Time for some pictures - show us what Bubba did.....

Where getting closer now. Heater and A/c motor are the same. If its NOT blowing then your problem is the motor, power going to the motor, or the switch(or power going to the switch) If it's blowing but not coming out of the vents then that's a whole different problem and different things to check. More then likely a vacuum problem. Which could be as simple as a hose off or a bad switch. And if it's blowing but not getting hot ,that's a whole different problem also. We are like doctors (except we're broke) and need to know the exact symptons before we can diagnose the problem. See if we were real doctors we would just tell you to throw parts at it (like perscriptions) until we got lucky and you changed the right part. Then we woudn't have any money left to pay the real doctors to guess how to fix us.

Hi riley, the small plastic tube that operates the heater valve goes into the firewall and to the heat/AC control on the center console. Actually it starts at the inside control and runs out to the water valve, the heat and AC levers move the control to different ports and direct vacuum to the various dampers and valves to get the results your looking for.
Thank you very much. I see where it goes into the firewall, it was broken off. I was messing with the firewall grommet and broke off the other small hose. So much fun. Guess I get to pull the center council and try to find the hoses. I am sure it is going to be a fun one where I wish my hand or arm was on backwards. I will keep you up dated.
My vacuum hoses come off the manifold. There are 4 ports, one blocked off, one going to the tranny and two more going to the other places. I am trying to replace them all. Do you have any idea where each one should go? I am trying to get my headlights to go up without me pulling them up.
