YES, YES, YES,Love them BB's![sm=icon_rock.gif]
A 427 ain't nothin' to sneeze at! Horses is horses, and a 427 can put 'em out!
One thing you might concider, the front springs from a BB car should go in.
The BB's are heavier that a SB.
I'm curreently goin from a 350 to a 454, and have alresdy upgraded my front (and rear) suspension.
Man, I'd carry that 427 on my back if I had to, just to get it home!
Should be quite a Thanksgiving/Christmas you'll have!
Have a good one, and congrats!

A 427 and a 454 are the same block. You can think of a 454 as a 427 "stroker", as the crank is changed to increase the stroke of the pistons. Motor mounts will line up, and the rest of the pieces and parts for it are just "chevy big block" from that era. 427 is a nice engine, generally tighter strokes mean more lifespan for the engine (less wear), and easier to get torque (at the expense of some HP in most cases). You can get 400+ hp and 400+ ft-lbs of torque out of that beast without having to go too radical, or adding turbos/superchargers. Great lump to have under the hood, and it should last a good long time.

If you don't want it, I'll pay freight to get it here...

bill.
