Motor for 1972 C3 L48
I am looking at replacing my L48 with some that has a little more power at reasonable cost. I was considering the Tri Star motors "Weekend Warrior" Chevy 383 Stroker Crate Engine. I will have to order it with the 2 pc main seal and the edelbrock 5001 for clearance. After that it looks like it will drop right in. The price seems reasonable. 3995.00. I think rebuilding and with performance upgrades I would end up spending more. If the car had an L82 I would rebuild, but since it is an L48 I don't expect replacement would hurt the value.
Opinions?
Has anyone dealt with this company or bought this motor?

New member, having a 1977 restored at this time
I had the same questions at the start of my 1977 L-82 Coupe body off frame restoration. But I went with the advice from Hill Country Vettes in New Braunfels, Texas. Took the L-82 home, covered it up and put in garage. We ordered a Blueprint 383 Stroker. 430 hp / 450 tq. It dynode at 440 hp, 460 tq. 10.1 compression, 750 Holley, Headman Headers, Magnaflow Exhaust thru 2 1/2" pipe. It is so much more engine than the L-82. Rebuilt the Turbo 400, beefed it up, re-built rear end, now has fiberglass rear spring. My car was a numbers matching car with 69k original miles. When complete this month it will be a new 41 year old classic. BTW, I am the original owner, took me 40 years to find it and get it back.
Warranty is 3 years, 50k miles. I believe it cost around $5500. m/l
Got off the subject, but that's what I suggest.
