Hi all. I just picked up a 72 Vette, 454 4 speed and am starting my restoration. Body is good but the paint is bad. I'm sure I willl be visiting this site often. Any books you pros recommend for resto and paint and body tips. I'm a Mopar guy expanding my toys. Plus most of my friends are Chevy guys so as they say,if you can't beat em, join em.

Welcome to CF!
Congarts on joining the world of Vettes.

For starters, I recommend you go to www.ecklers.com , and order the shop manual, wiring diagrams, andCorvette assemblymanual. You can order them for your particular year of Vette.
Have fun!

Oh ya, we'd love to see pics of your new arrival.

Welcome RG
Nice choice there. I am almost done with the restoration of my 72 (see pictures in the Gallery). Quite a project but well worth it. Here are some of the places I got my parts from: eckklers.com - riksvette.com - corvetteamerica.com - corvettecentral.com. While ecklers probably has the largest inventory of parts they did not have a ggod record of shipping the right parts, getting them to me in expediciously & showing them as being in stock when they were not. I found riksvette to be the best in performance and in most cases the most reasonable on pricing. Good luck, have fun and enjoy the process.
