Hi, I am helping my uncle with his 71 454 convertible and I am trying to figure out more about the car. Does anyone know where I can find information on how tho read the VIN?

it's been 2 days/no answer. just post the vin #,,, someone will tell what it's supposed to be. Or try www.c3vr.com think they have a tool section for this

 

Hello, without knowing your Vin # I can't be of much help, But a little over 20,000 were built and 7,121 were convertibles, also the ones that had the optional LT-1 350 engine 1,949 , over the base 350 engine. The rest of the cars built had the choice of 2 " 454's " to choose from. So if your uncle is lucky enough to have the LS6- 425 Hp engine with the convertible option I would say this is a very desireable collector car to have.
