Just bought a 1979 Corvette. No windshield. My first problem is what exterior trim surrounds the windshield? I bought some used trim, but I think there is more. T Tops. I have the 4 foot ss top trim. I have side pieces, two on each side, I don't exactly know how they attach, haven't tried them yet. SS, but all trim is black. There might be two bottom corner pieces. I see two screws in at each side, attaching nothing. There might also be some kind of trim retainer at the top corners? A vender lists a brass part, shaped like a U. Anything else? Can anyone clarify how the windshield is attached? I need those corner bottom pieces if they exist. Also need a windshield, hopefully Safelite can get me one, I can pick it up there.

Welcome, it makes it harder when you buy things without all the pieces. Go to the Corvette parts websights check out the pictures and compare what you have. The windshield is held in place by a black bead of gue, most windshield guys today get the black seal from a calk gun, used to be a rope seal years back wound up. If you have or can locate those parts,I think there are 3 pieces top and two sides take them to safelite with you and they have to be removed to install the glass on the car, then they will install the trim,it's part of the windshield replacement, not sure what clips you might be missing but the glass guys might be able to help you out there.

Welcome to the forum. Another place you can find the information you're seeking about the parts, including the clips probably, is getting an Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) from some of the aftermarket Corvette suppliers. This manual has illustrations in it that were used at the factory and has the part numbers called out and named.
