Removing chrome window trim
In order to NOT destroy my windshield and rear window chrome trim, upon removal/instal, I ask!
Does the chrome trim attach by clips, or is it a type of snap-in, to a slot that goes around the perimiter of the glass/weather stripping? I have seen either on other cars. So how's a '80 Vette set up?

Hi C3 starship, heres how I you can do it.
#1 you have to remove the side windshield weather strip then
#2 you have to unscrew a couple of rusted in screws then
#3 work your way around the upper moulding removing all the screws as you progress your way to
#4 the other side.
The trim is on the outside of the car, it has threaded places on it, it fits on the windshield frame and is held there by a screw.
I can't tell you how the back trim is held on since mine is a 74. (no glass)
Hope someone else can help you on the rear.PG

hi starship. the rear moulding is held down with clips. i have two broken ones on mine on one of the corners and i can clearly see the clips. according to my glass guy he believes the glass has to be taken out to replace the clip. he says the clip is held in by a pin that goes in side ways not straight in.
