Hi, I’m new here and have some questions on my new Corvette. I just bought this car after a tree unfortunately fell on my Firebird and decided to try something different. The first thing I decided while driving this car home is I NEED to put a stereo in it so that way I can fully enjoy the car. I’ve been looking at the Classic Autosound radios because I’d like to retain the classic look of the car while also making it so I can also play all my classic tunes from my phone. The problem I’m running into is that I don’t like how the 77-82 radios look compared to the pre 76 ones. All the older style radios have a much nicer look and say “CORVETTE” on the front which I really like. Is there any reason I couldn’t use one of these older style radios on my 79? From what I’ve seen the radios look really similar and like it should be compatible, but I haven’t spent enough time in my car yet to really notice all the finer details of the car. TIA

 

Welcome to the forum. Not sure but I suspect the mounting and fit would be different for the later C3 models. I would give the supplier a call and ask them as they are probably pretty knowledgeable about that.
