new parts, what you think ill run
i have an 80 L48 bone stock, im getting ready to putnew heads, intake, carb, exhuast, shift kit, dirttrack tires( heard they grip on the drag track), gear drive, rollerrockers and cam.
the heads that i bought are 64cc (compression anyone)gm heads that have 2.02 1.60 valves in them and are ported and polished with rollerrockers on them
the cam is the magnum 270h 470 lift and 270 duration
shift kit is the 40 dollar b&m shift improver kit stage 2
headers are the 86 dollar cheapies from summit with some purple hornies bolted on to them
i dont have the intake, carb or gear drive but im probably going to go with a 600cfm carb
what do you think i will run in the 1/4 with all this, never ran this car before but it feells faster as is without all the stuff on there than my rx7 i had before which ran low 15's

One thing stands out, L-48. I believe it's a 2 bolt main. If you want to push some horses, and not push 'em right out though the bottom of the engine, you might concider a 4 bolt block. Just my opinion, don't cha know!
ive never heard of it being a 2 bolt main but i guess i will see, and my auto teacher has told us that 2 bolt mains can hold up to 500 hp, then theyll crap out everything out the pan.
I'd guess that you're lookin' at maybe......3gs for everything you mentioned, you're goin' to want to rebuild the whole engine. That's if you do the work yourself.
You might concider goin' to the 383 right out the gate! Do it once, do it right!
Hood clearance? Try a L-88 hood.
Your compresion will depend on piston config and stroke length.

Sorry, Old age confusion!
What she'll run will depend on your finished hp/torque output, tranny and rear gears.
Really not enough info to make an educated guess.
If ya give Edelbroch a call, they can give ya specs on their Junior Victor.
