Replacement Air Conditioning VIR
Hiya, all, having fits with the AC system on my newly acquired 75 roadster, among other things it appears the VIR is TU. Anyone have any advice on best way to proceed and where to get appropriate parts? I see all these R134 a conversion kits, but this car is a 27K miles 100% original and there is a certain amount of modifications needed to use such a kit. Would like to avoid that to preserve cars’ integrity. Anyone?

Unfortunately your car was built for use with R-12. That is no longer available to the common repair shop. R-134 is really the only option you have. The conversion really won't effect the integrity of the car.

Welcome to the forum. Several problems with an R134a conversion. One is it operates at a very high pressure and another is it requires a larger condenser or it will be much less efficient than R12. It also requires a different oil which will mean you'll need to really flush the existing R12 oil out of your system.
