Know where to find complete belt system for a 72? Ecklers has had them on backorder for months now. Don't want to finsih the car and not be able to drive LEGALLY! Appreciate any help. Getting close to needing them!

 

does the car have belt retractors?i have a pair of belts i bought for my early '71 on ebay,didn't realize my car didn't have retractors .(it was completely disassembled didn't have any belts)they are blue and date coded friday of 39th week 1971,correct for a ;72 retractors were totally rusted and i cut them off.replacements cost about 90-100 bucks. i can give you a good price on these,i have no use for them,found a great set for mine.they also have shoulder harness connector on buckle....jc

 

Actually mine were completely rusted out also. Not happy with the looks of the buckles either. Since I am doing a complete restoration I'mm trying to get as much new as possible. Quite expensive but shoud be worth it. Thanks for the offer and the reply.

 

US belt makes a bolt in replacement... Andover restraints make all kinds of kits for converting from non-retracting to retracting, and for replacing bad original equipment... Wesco makes kits as well (I've bought their extenders for mine, I'm 6'5 and 280 lbs)...

They might not be "original", but they will be legal and look decent until you can find the ones you want.
