Default Speedometer cable transmission leak

I have a 1977 Vet with an automatic trans. Its leaking transmission fluid from the speedometer cable. After taking apart I don't see how it would not leak. There appears to be no form of seal around the gear shaft to keep the fluid from passing through to the cable. Am I missing something?

Shouldn't there be an O-ring that the gear shaft goes thru?

Default Leaking speedo cable

Its actually a seal. And I found that it wasn't seated all the way into the bullet. I posted before and after pictures. This has fixed the problem.

Your right. My apology's. It appears I've posted the same thing twice. Here's the link to the other post that has the pictures. https://www.corvetteforums.com/forum...le-leak-18914/
